June 2nd, 2006 (10:07 am)

Life's been pretty hectic since starting to actually work...go figure, haha! I've worked about 17 hours so far, and it's been pretty good. I must say, I am kind of worried because I'm scheduled to open the store by myself next Friday, and I know that during the summer it's going to be so crowded that there NEEDS to be more than one person working. So that better be just a 'this week' thing, because it's already really crowded with just two people working there. So as long as he schedules two of us after that it'll be okay...but I'm going to talk to him about switching to Spinner's anyway. I originally applied to work at Spinner's but got suckered into working at scoop's. So I'm hoping he'll let me work the majority of my hours at spinner's and maybe just one or two shifts a week to help out at scoop's. That'd be the ultimate goal so hopefully he'll be okay with that. I go back Saturday from 1-close...8 hours...way too long if you ask me, but I think it's training hours or something. Oh well, at least it's money. :D

So aside from work, life's been good. Just hanging around with friends and such enjoying summer. All my high school friends (well basically, all my best friends ever) are at their last day of school today! It's hard to imagine they're graduating next week, it's insane. I'm so happy for them though, I can't wait for them to be out of high school and experience college...it's so much better. And I get to be with Ashley! (roomie for next year) It'll feel more like summer too when all of them are out of school. Can't wait!

Today's going to be fun...I'm going up to the school to see Ashley, Steeve, Taryn and everyone I haven't seen in awhile, and also my teachers. The last time I went to visit all of my teachers weren't in their classrooms so today's my last chance to catch them. I hope Mr. Chumley got told that he won the inspirational teacher award from State (I nominated him for the award and he got it!) so yay for that. They might present it in front of all the students if they work it out. Anywho, so yeah I'm going to see my teachers and hopefully all of them will be there, and then Ashley and I are going to have dinner at the wonderful O'Charley's with Ms. Watkins!!! Ohhhh I am so excited. I haven't seen her in absolutely forever and she's just about the best adult that ever walked the earth. I can't wait to see her and catch up, it will be divine.

Well that's about it for what's going on now...I'm off work today so hurray for a day of lounging about until going to see everyone at school! Yayy :)

So this weekend was mucho fun. I actually already started work! On Friday at around 4:30 my manager (who's name is Sam...he's like 23, pretty cool kid) called me and asked if I'd come in to work because the girl who was supposed to called in sick...which meant if I didn't come in he would've had to stay until close. I felt his pain because if I had been working all day I wouldn't want to work more when I was supposed to go home so I went in, plus I thought it'd be good to get the hang of what I was doing earlier than Wednesday. So yeah, I went in and it was quite fun! I made lots of ice cream cones, milkshakes and icees hehe (I work at an ice cream store), it was good times. Much better than panera...and the people are cool too. I haven't met all of them yet though, but hopefully soon. My next day is Wednesday :D

Saturday we went to Chapel Hill to help Kelly move into her new apartment. And wowww, that was an experience. I didn't expect for it to take allll day, but it did. It was okay though, it was fun, I like her new apartment a lot better than the old one. It's very cute. Mom, Kelly and I went to Tomato Jake's and brought back pizza for dinner...it was good :) They have the cutest little mascot that's a tomato with sunglasses...hehe.

Ohh so my mom's looking into getting a new cat! She's been looking online and I think we're going to go look at some on Tuesday night. I'm excited, I loveee cats :D

Man I can't wait to go to the beach..June 25...can't get here soon enough...!!! I'm kind of glad I've got a solid job now though and can make money all summer..and it's pretty much I can work whenever I want since they don't have a lot of people working there. Which is sort of good and bad because I can get hours, but I also don't want to be called in to work on my days off when someone calls in sick...bleh to that. But anywho hopefully it'll be okay.

Well that's about it for now, I need to get ready since we're going to Chapel Hill again today to bring Kelly a new dresser! Byee.

I know it's early but I felt like updating since my dad hasn't gotten home yet from Seattle (he should anytime now though!) Anywho, yesterday was awesome! I went up to WHS and saw some really cool kids that I miss so much, Ashley, Megan, Melissa, Jessica, Holly, Steeve, Erin, and Cameron were still there after school and I was so happy to see them. I'm really going to miss all of them when they go away to college because Steeve's moving to Pennsylvania and Melissa's moving to Florida. But hopefully Ms. Proctor will have an independent guard so I'll still see Megan a lot :) Anywho, Ashley (my roomie for next year!) and I walked around the school a bit, it was weird walking through the halls again. I hadn't been back in the school since graduation basically...oh well, besides winterblast. But for that I only went to the gym. But yeah, I was there to see a bunch of my old teachers, but of course all of them weren't in their rooms! Mr. Chumley was teaching or giving a quiz..or something, and Ms. Guy and Ms. Morgan weren't in their rooms. I did get to see Ms. Proctor though; she's still her sweet sassy self, hehe, it was nice to see her :)

I think I'm going to go back next Friday to try and catch my teachers again. So after being at school Ashley and I went to Triangle to look for a dress for her graduation. There are a bunch of pretty ones at Dillard's, but they were more prom-looking. I wish I had a prom to go to soon, I love formal dresses! There is the band banquet in December though, so I'll get to buy a pretty dress for that :D Yeah, so I checked out scoop's (where I start working at on Wednesday!) and it was cool because there was only one kid working there, which is good because at Panera there were a ton..it was so unorganized, so it'll be nice having less people. Can't wait, should be fun :)

So after the mall, we went to the one and only O'Charley's for dinner. Mmm...I got my delicious chipotle chicken tenders again, sooo good. I had lots of left overs to bring home too though that mom and I ate later haha. That new 'so you think you can dance show' was on..it was pretty amusing. Not quite american idol, but still worth watching because I like seeing the good dancers, and there are some really good people on there.

Well my dad should be getting home soon, and I think today I might go get my hair cut and get my NEW glasses from the eyedoctor! Whoooo, lata! :)

First entry!

May 25th, 2006 (11:25 am)

So I've had a lot of journals in my day, and I've finally come back to livejournal. I'm tired of xanga and myspace since everyone and their second cousin has one and can find your stuff so easily. But anywho, I'm glad to be back at livejournal because I do miss blogging.

Life's going fairly well right now, I'll update on what's been going on the past...well, year. So this past fall I started my freshman year of college. I went to NC State University, and I had a good year. I ended up with a 4.0 for both semesters, which I'm very proud of. However, the campus life didn't really fit me, and I had a career epiphany around January 2006. I have always wanted to help people with whatever I'm going to do in life. I originally started off as a social work major, then changed to English Education. I soon realized that neither were for me, one...social workers get paid horribly for all the work they do, and I hate reading (not such a good fit for english eh?) But anyway, I finally figured out that I want to major in nursing. My mom mentioned the healthcare profession and it was sort of like a lightbulb went off and I've been so excited about it ever since. So I'm transfering to East Carolina in the fall! Yayyy, I'm really excited, it's going to be awesome. So I'll be majoring in nursing there, and am planning on being in the marching band to do colorguard, maybe winterguard...and if possible student ambassadors (not sure if that's do-able w/being in marching band but we'll see). But anyway, enough of the boring stuff.

I've got a job for the summer at scoop's (it's an ice cream place) in the mall, as well as spinner's. It's sort of a joint job type thing. Spinner's owns scoops, so the owner asked if I would work at scoop's for awhile, and once I get the hang of it there, I can switch over to spinner's to start learning how to be a server. So I think that works quite well. I start next Wednesday, it should be good.

Ohh and today I'm finally going up to WHS to see the band kids and my old teachers. I've been saying I was going to do that all year, and never got around to it, but I'm finally doing it today! I'm excited, I haven't seen a lot of people in ages. Then Ashley and I are going to look for a graduation dress for her and go out to eat, whoooo! Fun times. I need some fun right about now, I've been lounging around the house basically all this week so it'll be nice to get out.

Well I think that's good for a first entry, later! :)
